London Swingband
Last Friday my girlfriend took me to see the London Swingband. I have to be honest and admit that swingbands and music of that era such as Frank Sinatra, Matt Munro and Perry Como is not really my cup of tea, so when my girlfriend told me she had got tickets to see the London Swingband I was not that excited about the prospect of going. However, my opinion soon changed the moment the show started. The band was excellent and couldn`t believe how talented they were. In the band was three males singers and one female singer and they were spot on when they sang every single note! I am not exaggerating when I say that if you shut your eyes you could have been watching Ol` Blue Eyes Himself. They sang all the hits of the era like Come Fly with Me, New York New York, From Russia With Love and I Get a Kick Out of You. The whole night was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was reading in the programme that the London Swingband have played all over the world and to audiences including HRH The Princess Royal, Celebrity Fame Academy, BBC, ITV and Arsenal Football Club.

Ergonomics
My brother is incredibly interested in Ergonomics as a concept and he is constantly talking about how we could use Ergonomics in so many areas of life to make our daily life a lot easier. He points out that Ergonomics should be an important consideration in so many things that we do that it amazes him that they are not thought about more. I must admit that I find his pearls of wisdom very interesting and they certainly give me food for thought about my own life and the sorts off choices I make when choosing to use and buy things. However, I feel that one must look upon these sort of things as an ideal to aspire to rather than a necessity we need to have immediately. No, I prefer to take the view that when things wear out then I will replace them with a more ergonomic alternative but, in the meantime, I will make do with what I have got. I must also say that, underneath it all, I think my brother secretly agrees with me.
